In this daily changing world,
our lives tend to become complicated, to say the least.
An d we find ourselves evaluating
each problem with,
How does it affect me?
How does it involve me?
But quietly, each me must have a you.
And I'd like to tell you about my you, maybe even your you,
because you see, in this world,
in this world of ordinary people, of ordinary people,
extraordinary people, I'm glad there
Where is you?
In this world
Where many, many play at love
But hardly any stay in love
I'm glad there is a you
You and me against the world
Sometimes it feels like you and me
against the world
When all the others turn their backs and walk away,
you can count on me to stay.
Remember when the circus came to town
And we were frightened by the
clown
Wasn't it nice to be around, oh, someone that we knew,
someone who was big and strong, and
looking out for you an d me
against the world.
Sometimes it feels like you and me
against the world
And for all the times we've cried
I always felt the odds
were on our side
And when one of us is gone
And one is left alone to carry on
Well, then, remembering
will have to do
Our memories alone will get us through
Oh, think about the days
Life can be a circus,
They underpay and overwork us,
And though we seldom get our due,
When each day is through,
I bring my tired body home and look
around for you an d me
Against the world
Sometimes it feels like you and me
against the world
Then, for all the times we've cried,
I always felt that
God was on our side
And, when one of us is gone
Oh, what is left alone to
carry on?
Well, then
Remembering will have to do
Oh, memories alone
will get us through
Think about the days of me an d you,
of you an d me.
Against the world
You and me
